The Journal of Emily G Myers

she's me!
01/15/2004 03:30 a.m.
There's a girl in my History of Women in the US class that wore a Tori Amos shirt the first day, is a creative writing major with a Women's and Gender Studies minor AND she's the president of the National Organization of Women at Georgia Southern.

She's what I would be if I had any courage. It's crazy. I haven't had the opportunity to talk to her yet, but I reeeeeeeally want to. I have so many questions to ask her.

As a sidenote, I started my first job ever today. My feet are hating me... not only do I start every weekday (except Tuesday) standing for hours, but I also am taking Fitness Walking. It's really not fair on my feet.

Oh, and I also realized today in World History that Koye is Queen Elizabeth I. The teacher was like, "The only thing Elizabeth didn't do was have an heir. Well, I guess she didn't really have the best examples of marriage to go on, so she avoided marriage all together." Not to compare Koye's parents to Henry VIII and all his wives... no no no. It's just that Elizabeth was so strong and she knew what she could and should do, and what she shouldn't do. She was wise enough to know. Just like Koye. It's uncanny.

And I think that's all for now. Yep.

"bigots!"
12/22/2003 05:53 p.m.
I'm so bored of people who say, "I hate bigots." Doesn't that bore you? And then they say, "I hate religion, meat, patriots, macho men, people who don't have the same ideas as me, etc." Are these people not the dumbest in the entire world? I'm not speaking of any one person... but sometimes it only takes one person to isolate a type of person.

I think it's high time we realized that we are NOT all the same. We are different. And without our differences this world would be a ridiculously boring place to live. I understand you have your likes and dislikes. I'm not such a fan of "macho men" but am certainly not going to say that I'm not bigoted. Everyone has their prejudices. EVEN YOU. Wow. Yes, you. And me too!

Certainly, if I'm saying this after what I've had to deal with over the past year... my whole life, really... then you know there has to be something wrong. I mean, my dad disapproves because I'm white and I'm dating a black guy. I know prejudice, ok? But you can't say, "I hate blacks and whites and BIGOTS!" It makes no sense. And as fond as I am of all things nonsensical, I am NOT fond of that.

And I just went on a rant. There you go.

eyes and stuff
12/12/2003 01:20 a.m.
everyone's been mentioning my eyes lately. but no one ever did before. I guess my black magic is finally working.

just kidding.

Zane is telling me about video games, and I'm pretending to listen... but I'm only hearing about half of what he's saying. "weird logos on the cars." yeah.

oh, I'm home, by the way.

tomorrow Zane is staying home from school cause he has strep throat (which I am PRAYING not to catch) so we're going to play Soul Calibur II and watch Pirates of the Carribean. will be a good day.

and now we're discussing Christmas presents we think we got. and "bigger than a breadbox." and now back to video games.

ok, enough play by play. it's pizza time. goodnight. :D

grrrrr...
12/09/2003 05:09 a.m.
I am SOOOOO sick of being judged.

I can't even explain how sick of it I am. And I don't really notice until I stick my head out of Georgia Southern-world for a minute and then BAM. I hate it.

My.

On a much lighter note, for some reason Eric and I did a lot of "sharing" tonight. We talked about things I didn't think we'd ever be able to talk about comfortably (ex-boy and girlfriends, mainly). It was really nice.

I wasted so much time this past weekend and I'm making up for it by studying my butt off this week. I REALLY want to call Koye and talk all manner of things out, but I have so much to do. Once I get home, though, man that phone'll be glued to my ear with him on the other end. And I have this really ambitious plan involving me seeing him multiple times over the break. Days upon days. And it seems the Koye-Simeon-Emily fun will be resurrected. We just need to find a good day to do it. YAY. I'm missing them both. Goodness.

Other than my anger tonight, this has been a pretty good couple of weeks. Things are going wonderfully. But I'm ready to be home. Yes.

Ok, I think that's all I have to say. I hope you all have a lovely week!

favorites
12/02/2003 04:49 p.m.
I was reading through Angel Esclave's poems so I could pick which ones to put on my favorites list and a question struck me that hasn't in a long time. but I don't know if I should ask it.

was it me that was being referenced all those times? or him? was I the one missed, loved, cried over? or him? I didn't know then, and I still don't.

and now that I've asked it, it seems like a horribly selfish thing to ask. I don't know. but sometimes you just wonder... where do I stand really? where am I on the list? and then you feel like a fucking jerk cause... maybe you didn't put someone first all the time. or at least, they felt they weren't put first. I mean, if you make them feel second-best... then you're treating them second-best, I suppose.

and now I've gone on a terrible tangent that may cause wars. I hope not.

cinnamon pathetic!
12/02/2003 04:52 a.m.
that's what the new theme makes me think of. egg nog with cinnamon and nutmeg... YUM. I want to DRINK PATHETIC.

the "Explicit" dealy is ok... but the REDness of it is kind of distracting. I don't like that. maybe if it were just CAPS or something. the red is too much.

and I have decided that I do NOT like being able to comment on journal entries. my pathetic journal is not meant to be commented on. that's why I got a xanga. to post silly stuff anyone could say anything to. this journal is for serious stuff only. no comments. can I turn them off? maybe I'll poke around and see.

I like the away/busy thing as well. sometimes when I'm trying to post a poem I'm trying to focus and someone attacks me cause I'm NEVER on AIM and it's my fault really because I'm SO antisocial and actually I'm just the biggest jerk in the world so nevermind.

RYAN HEIDORN (aka Ryan from New York) is on PATHETIC. I posted a journal entry about it a long while ago, but it seems he just discovered my pathetic-ness. he's awesome, by the way. go read his stuff.

lots of capital letters. um, ok.

I think that's it. I have to go to sleep so I can wake up and wing an English project with Jamie and Lucy. our names all end with the long "e" sound. crazy. hey, that too. wow.

for real this time. :D bye.
