Heavy Questions by Caitlin SchwartzWhat
How
Why—
These are the questions that plague my conscience
North
South
East
West—
I can’t even tell which way is up
And which way is down
Anger rips through my chest
Like a single bullet
Reverberating against my ribs
Before taking residence in my heart
Bitterness,
A single drop
Diluting
The purity of my youth.
What
How
Why
Will this pain ever lessen?
