Puppet Show by Uriel TovarThe ink’s running thin
Seeing the shadows grow larger
Less whole
Noticing the thickening of the light
There was a time
When all we needed
Was to write our hearts
Onto pages
Letting the masses
Decipher what the true meaning of these works
Was
And there
The inside joke
Knowing that these pauses and
Uncommon words
Were meant only to misdirect
From the fact that we ourselves
Lost the meaning
Yes
The shadows definitely grow larger
On this rice paper wall
As the physical form eludes us.
