Snow Globe

by Uriel Tovar

To be in that perfect world
That globular instance
Hanging on the edge
Glass encased
Perpetual model of a
Beautiful Christmas
To be
A part of a never ending holiday
With all its warmness
And light
With pies fresh out of
The oven still steaming
To be
At that table
Hands held tight in
Grace
Thanksgiving
For what we have
To be
Thankful for what we have
And the ability
To look over anything we lack
To be in that perfect instance
That model of what it means
To be a family
To be happy.

What a striking, wonderful image.
