Is There Something I Can Do? by Scott Utley
A Holy man knocks at your door
but you turn him away.
Full of mistrust, you are
suspicious and misguided.
You cannot see his golden hallo.
You cannot see through all your lies,
so you order him to go.
Your seven centers are suffocating
and in peril of a murky dark eternity,
but this is something you cannot see.
Let me know if there is something I can do?
A Holy woman asks you the way
but you ignore her plea and do not say.
You think she’s crazy or wants a dime.
You think, “she’s frightening, I don’t have time.’
You wonder why there’s so much slime.
You've lost your mind, you're out of time.
Is there something I can do?
A Holy child pulls at your hem.
“Don’t bother me, you go to them.”
The baby cries with swollen eyes.
"Just get away, oh please just die!”
Your love is wounded, your light is blocked
from head to toe; from hurt and pain;
From drugs and booze or don’t you know?
It clearly shows. You’re dull,
you’re mad, you’ve gone insane.
Hysterical, no breath; you’re blue.
So tell me please, I’m asking you,
is there something I can do?
