Morea

by Scott Utley

Striding the decks of Paul Gauguin, blessed and glee’d by the very same ancient

souls who have protected your electric shores since before the beginning of time,

my spirit brushed onto a cobalt blue canvass, my flesh tattooed with black-pearl

angel dust, I am startled by the laughter of a thousand sun-yellowed lizards, and

as I look up, finding myself starring face to face into the beautiful face, the

lovely face of God, my savage soul incinerates. I am born once again. Once again I

am happy at last, for I have never, ever seen anything as beautiful as you.

Author's Note:

Since my Face Book page 'Send Scott To Morea' hasn't
the two million likes committed to donating two cents a
day for life through Pay Pal. (I created the waste-of-time-hello?
page a while back. It's been twelve hours already!) I am forced to find
another way of getting there. To all of you out there in
LA and beyond, thanks for nothing!
