Not Enough by Agnes HallPlanning each word
so carefully, hoping to hold your attention.
Scraping together every last bit
of laid-back-non-chalant-no-big-deal attitude
I can muster,
only to thinly conceal
my racing heart and fumbling speech.
The harder I try the more I end up
wanting to rip myself apart
and rearrange my pieces to fit with you.
I need a file
to saw down
the worn edges of my puzzle piece heart
and match it to yours. 08/23/2011 Posted on 12/14/2011 Copyright © 2025 Agnes Hall
