Rattlesnake gently pass slicing open yellow goldenrod wild grass

Rattlesnake gently pass slicing open yellow goldenrod wild grass

Red I did run

Red my erratic rocks

Red I did run run over the creek to get lost with the boars

get lost with the boars

Blacks canyon we fled running running Red from Red necks with their guns wanted to “get them some”

Ishi was found hiding with his people

tired from their run

Chased they was by ranchers and their sons

Sank into the bottom of the canyon

Author's Note: written for Ishi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishi Local lore is that the last of his people were killed at Black Rock in the lower Sierra Nevada a few miles from my hometown.
