Is like an old friend
That doesn't need to dress
Special
To see me,
My dirty coffee mug
Knows me in my
Still waking moments
Every morning,
My dirty coffee mug
Shows concern
By helping me imbibe
Consciousness giving
Caffeine,
And my dirty coffee mug
Doesn't rush off
To the day's activities
Since my dirty coffee mug
Stays and listens to me,
The mug's coffee grime
Is not dirt
But the remains
Of weeks of sincere service
Of a caring coffee mug.
