Shower

by Agnes Hall

Waiting for the water to warm
and the steam to envelope
in a transluscent hug
water slips and slides
rivers and streams and oceans of
morning noon and night
run down and puddle at my feet
my toes wiggle around the "Hellos"
and "Goodbyes" and "Nice to see Yous".
out from my ears nose and eyes
run out the truths and lines
My head is rinsed of each thought
and word
and think
down to the drain
swirling and whirling and gone
Forever.

I love that ending.

Reminds me of "South Pacific"--"I'm gonna wash that man right outta my hair!' Fun!
