Seaside Nirvana

by Timothy Wilson

Opened my eyes from the chill of a breeze rolling in a slightly opened window
I’ve never seen this place before but I know just where I am
Heart pounding like a gong, I’m unusually calm
This place is somewhere between heaven and hell
It’s on me to find out just where so I wrap myself in the comforter and journey outwards
Her presence is everywhere
Her scent is in the air so I hyperventilate willingly
It scares me that I’m not afraid to love her

Step by step leaving footprints that will never wash away
Day by day she leaves memories engraved on my soul
My temperature rises she must be near
“Drop the blanket and run you fool”
I see her but I’m frozen in my own footsteps
She’s nearing
The ocean waves are roaring louder than ever
Deaf to their calls I can only see

And now all I see is her
Closer and closer she comes
And my confidence has been sheared off my body much like the blanket
We kiss, I’m mobile once more
We fall to the sand just to hold
Just to be
I’m as close as one can get to heaven
I’m loving like a fool, risking myself like a poker player going all in
And she’s doing the same

Fear confusion and inability vanish when you channel your energy towards love
When it’s so extreme, love becomes all you feel.

Author's Note: based on a dream I had last night, it didn't turn out how I hoped but hope someone can enjoy it.
