Dichotomy

by Alisa Js

the three of them stood firm
facing the demons inside
and out,
flailing for lack of a better word
trashing the trust that once
became them,
back when it was all brand new
back when the hope was still
something real

he gazed upon her form with a hot desire
wanting that fire
consumed,
adjusting himself, he turned away
just enough so she couldn't see.
their conversation continued
it was night and the moon bled

she wondered why all her memories faded
nothing now to keep her sane,
there was a season before this hell
when laughter reigned supreme

it's night time in Tokyo
and daylight in Brazil,
lepers live for another dance
beyond this realm,
fat chance!

the three of them stood firm
waiting to see who would drop first,
was it the one with the heart that loved
or the empty soul,
heartless bitch

What an ending. Just brilliant.

Really great Alisa. Kind of like one of Ashbery's poems.
