Prince Uncharming

by Kim Thevenot

i lost my shoe in the corridor
leading to that fateful hidden door.
He asked for an answer i did not have
and now haunts me as i swiftly escape.

That door
bordered by fetishes
of pressure on my back
and dreams on my lips
that drip away
to come back another day.

did not give me much time for thought
his impatience for those wishes i sought
out, of the way, another day til tomorrow.
where sin glides over an enticing hidden door

That door<
bordered by memories
of confusing kisses
and brazen touches
that linger, stay
to come back another day.

Must i go back through that entry way,
step into a deep re-enactment of yesterday
just to retrieve my simple little shoe
that waits for me with longing to escape

to run.... anywhere but away.

"to run.... anywhere but away" something very deep but relatable, as was the rest of the poem. Great write.
