Rattlesnake Romance

by Terry Olynik

Your bite
Didn't kill me.

The thought before
The deed

Took me out.
Flailing.
Gutted.
Done.

My take away from this is the notion that we sometimes sabotage our future. I know I have at times. Often we are so preoccupied with the fear of an outcome we settle the issue before it happens. The ensuing agony is exactly as you describe "Flailing./Gutted./Done." I enjoyed this piece immensely. Thank you very much, Terry.

Cute write and how often do we run or hide before we can be rejected?

So much truth revealed in this. I love your use of metaphors.Great write, Terry.

Ahhh I like this a good deal -because intent is often the key -and the sentiment behind the wound is often the killing force. Wonderful metaphor too!
