When co-dependency meets flattery

by Timothy Wilson

Like Dracula From a coffin
I rose the morning to be with
Derived from Stoker
Feeding on your love

For long
Forwards
And for words we wrote
Together the story was created eternally

I spoke of you that day
I slept with you that night
Every elongated day I go
Sleeping less
Resting more
Slumber leaves now
You’re here

Every weaving lingering breath
I hear a harp chord
Rung out ‘till the next

Your life is the symphony to my soul
Where will I go if you leave?
Tingle turns to chill

I spoke of the demons in my mind the next day
Quivered and vulnerable
Every sleepless night without you
Every night I toss I turn
You’re gone now

Will I stick to you?
As our inseparable souls
Siamese twins of another realm
Face the scalpel of time
To heal when days pass
Recovery time may be far out of the question

But though I love you when you are here
But though I miss you when you are gone
I rest with the day’s end writing this
“Lay me in my coffin”
“As time will separate us, I fear not that love will die”
“Love prevails over all things”
I will see you later on
