Pop culture gives me a tummy ache

by Timothy Wilson

Faster faster unleashing
The smell of a delightfully aged book
Turn the pages to create a vortex
Of sensory uncensored

I rise in the daylight
To put on my oversized sunglasses
A garnish to the corduroy pants and worn vintage jacket
Delightful

Walking along the chaos of today
Men and women alike
Blazing past the light-hearted me
Alone I walk in a world acceptable to snap and whistle
My favorite Frank Sinatra Tune

Over in my mind I keep hearing as I write
“These are a few of my favorite things”

I'm loving the imagery of this. It almost felt a little bit like synaesthesia for some reason--like if this poem were a color, it would be bright orange. I dunno why, but I'm pretty sure that's awesome.
