first kisses

AWKWARD.
CUTE.
NATURAL.
FORCED.
SLOPPY.
WRONG.
a lean in,
misguided
cheek graze,
on a non-date
mistaken for a date.
a magnetic pull
destined lock of
lips...
months in the making
followed by the question
"Am i doing this right?"
the look down,
eye-wobble tango
between two longtime friends
before the inevitable
destined kiss.
a quick smooch
goodbye
through the car window
after one night with
a former crush.
the drunken tongue dance
between you
and
a younger man.
a mouth rape
out of nowhere
in the front seat from
your best friend's ex.
the consequences of
losing a bet
after one of those
one A.M. telephone calls.
and yet..
no matter what the situation
person
or
consequence maybe
there just isn't anything
so thrilling as
THAT
1st kiss
