I've Seen Madness

by Anastasia Shows

I've seen madness
through the eyes
of
a shell of a body
pulling out hair
and
yelling of the devil
inside.

I've seen madness
in the carved name
of a boy
on a girl's skin
that bleeds to feel
ALIVE.

I've seen madness
in the wide- eyed stare
of a hippie child
smoking grass and crying
because she feels
D
i
r
t
y
and like just
another statistic.

and in the mumbles
of black holes
and conspiracy theories
of a disabled vet
who spells out curses
in rage
i have seen madness.
