Serpantine

by Timothy Wilson

Twisting through your fingers
The nature of the beast
I would have called for help
but you were supposed to keep me safe
Like a guardian double crossing
A demon on the inside
I can't believe the devil
took my innocents so young
And I can't believe the serpant
was such a close family friend
