Let Me Take This Moment

by Genevieve Sturrock

let me take
this moment
right now
to say
thank you

for i do not
want to
look back
and discover
that i did not
appreciate
all that
my life
offered

so even though
i am weary
from carrying
the burdens
of my life
short of money
short of time
missing my kids
afraid for my job
worried about
my parents
the economy
the future for
my own next
generation

let me take
this moment
right now
to say
thank you

for i have a
generation for
the future
a safe home
loving arms
to support
me when i stumble
joyful voices
to keep me company
a job to make the
money to keep
the financial
wheel a turnin'

and a faith
that i do not
ever
walk alone
a belief
that there is
more
waiting for me
beyond this life
a love
that is, truly,
unconditional
surrounding
us all

let me take
this moment
right now
to say
thank You

Well, it's in writing now, to be sure. Good stuff, and I particularly like your introduction in this.

So true, and just look at the kids in Palestine or parts of Africa that still know how to smile and play with far less than we have ever had.

...genevieve, i salute your ethic in a Universal nod to our Maker...and in your words the appeal is beautiful, one of those you read and you're glad you read it...that's this one...touche!

It's so good to appreciate what you have. It's also wonderful to say 'thank you". Good write as usual!
