Heartbreaking Rain by Alisa Jsif we stood on the edge of a faceless eternity
slashed against this raging storm brewing inside
with our souls ripped and torn, releasing a plea
would the heavens hear and answer?
or would we continue to drift, sift
bathed in these blue lacerations
and slowly fade,
beyond the point of never surrender...
would a solitary tear
drop,
and find it's way?
clutched now in obscurity's grasp
before sliding past all forms of remembrance,
how many would notice
how many would care
as it traveled by, choking
smashed and stretched
reduced to a smattering of it's former vestige,
if that
and what if the vignettes quickly raced by
each with a scene from a favorite
part of your life,
would you search frantically for the memory of me?
would you cry with disbelief
if I skipped past before you could
recognize
memorialize
those moments,
the ones we shared when the sun was once bright
and gave us sweet shelter from the moon's wandering twilight...
