Ephihany

by Alisa Js

and if the wheels rolled completely to a standstill
weather permitting, of course
would the rest of the car stop?
or continue on towards the next parking stall
as the latter rain continued to pour
each drop larger than the last...

how long would it take for the islands to fry
when everything pointed to never mind,
let the volcanoes erupt and have their way

if garbage and sewage adorn a trollop's demeanor
would her knight in shining armor ever appear?
or would he blaze by in a hurricane
ever thankful he never touched her stuff.
continuous complaining drives everyone crazy
especially those too polite to say
' shut-up already ! '

why is it we can figure out every detail
and solve any problem that doesn't relate
to us, specifically.
is it really the forest for the trees
are we just too damned blind
to take a careful look inside,
what does our heart say

have we really listened lately?
are we like that trollop, oblivious.
roll in our verbiage and go to town
reeking of yesterday's mistakes
and misfortune,
low on forgiveness
high on blame,
glaring at everyone but.
the only one responsible
who should be held accountable,
look in the mirror
for names...
