One Voice by Alisa JsI am but a lowly worm
and yet, dare I to rise
to dream a dream I see above
among all those who fly ...
the songs I hear from feathered ones
donned in bright apparel,
harmonies so sweet and clear
of freedoms in the larger world
above all I can see
as I inch along this dusty road
I must keep ever vigilant,
for treacherous is this path I take
and surely doomed
if I, a worm
remain
can I, a lowly worm aspire
to greater heights believed
as viewed from my vantage point
here,
under grassy leaves
is there life for me elsewhere
around the chosen few,
to dwell among those with wings above
who have seen the promised views,
or is my fate sadly sealed
no hope for those like me ... 01/27/2009 Posted on 01/28/2009 Copyright © 2025 Alisa Js

| Posted by George Hoerner on 01/28/09 at 01:50 PM Good write Alisa. I'm reminded of the turtle and the hare. The slow one won the race. And though you can't fly as a worm it may be that in the long run, or crawl, you really see things more closely. |
