Redemption

by Alisa Js

and what of the hope glimpsed
there, on the horizon
a redemption for all those others
who slid down the back-side
of never do right,
lathering crumpets of flesh
in the toaster of life and yet, we go on
but do we, really?
when love is the answer
and we walk without
or at least keep away from our heart fire,
ten feet minimum and I'll watch from here, thank you
been burned too many times to end up now as a crisp
an afterthought,
a coal in the bedpan of strife,
but it's lonely here without you
and you could be that hope I have glimpsed
are you willing and able
am I able and willing to try again,
cry again
be overcome again
with you?
for all time
for our time,
so brand new ...

"to end up now as a crisp" Man, that is the BEST line I've read in a LONG time!!! You have a way of putting things!!!

There's a lot of good lines in this one. And that's definitely one. As always, you rock.

Nice write Alisa. And yes, hope springs eternal within the human heart.
