Questions from an Odd fellow

by Alisa Js

would we have lasted a moment longer
than,
the eternal ecstasy of
a teenager's nocturne spin
in the coolness of an evening's kiss,
when we walked in the rush of
almost ...

journals spread wide with pen in hand
in a frantic effort to capture every last bit
of the pull and push
thrust and miss
as we lay there spent,
remembering.
rolling around like buttercups
laughing as the wind blazed past,
no one the wiser

we were a sight for sore eyes then
and yet, not quite fifteen
those were the days of long ago scenes
languishing dreams
that only sometimes surfaced in the cool of the night
when the moon looked just right,
as the wind raced ...
