Jade by Uriel Tovarjust remember
that the sea isn't
always blue
and that sleep
can erase things
better than
that rubber cap
on a pencil.
i'm tired
of this constant
world vision. Seeing life
through
jagged shards
of green
beer bottles.
i'm tired
of forgetting scents and names
that should be
engraved on hard flesh
but instead
they're swept away
and tossed
out

| Posted by Jeffrey Parren on 10/29/08 at 08:41 PM Well with these first two stanzas you have achieved a lot of thought-provoking ideas already. The imagery of the first stanza is great and the setting up happening in the second is a great start! ~JPP |
