Last Night

by David Garner

Last night you
came to
my house

from ten o'clock to three

and thirty seconds
from the time
you left

you were on the phone to me

Last night you
came to
my house

from ten o'clock to three

not even half
way down
the block

you were on the phone to me

Good poem, simple yet effective it sort of reads like a song.

I can't tell the tone here - if the writer is conveying that she needed to stay, or that the call was annoying, or that she was desperate...I guess that might be the point?
