smokestacked by Scott Cadence
lying here,
the moon
reveals
details
in the darkness
bodies
undressing
shadows
young
and lucent
hands
that level valleys
right through
exploding
hearts
lips
that inkblot skin
in a quadrascope
across the scrim
of eyelids
breath
that accelerates
in a dizzy
head whip
of hair
eyes
that reach in
past nakedness
to pull out
who I really am,
congealed
inside.
want
ing...
need
ing...
some
one.

| Posted by Tony Whitaker on 10/06/08 at 04:20 PM This is both simple and complex in its meaning, but well written and enjoyed reading every word for its own cadence. |

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 10/10/08 at 06:41 PM The text and layout certainly add to the impact of the title. Well done, glad I had a chance to read this! :o) |
