Serious Melodies by Alisa Jsthese tears in my coffee just laughed
especially at the way I just asked
over and over,
looking for something other than
the obvious,
wishing for another reason
to try again
be your friend,
maybe more
don't I get it, yet?
if I cried to the heavens
would there be an answer?
or a slap to the ground
as I should know better,
that's why we were given brains to think
minds to ponder
and not waste our time with these pithy ideals,
bulldozing my way against any way
determined I know best
trampling around in this endless fodder
of melodies, notes and peanut crunch ...
I guess I should simply look in the mirror of time
not everyone listens to a heartbeat
full of romance and dreams,
most look at balance sheets
and resumes and such,
like how much experience do you bring
how much do you have to add
show us something for your reason or rhyme
whatever happened to endless potential?
building with another in this journey called life,
taking a chance without hesitation
when did we all get so cynical?

| Posted by Alison McKenzie on 09/22/08 at 05:25 PM Once upon a time, we were all confined to that which we might chance to discover in our own neighborhood. We certainly can conceded that with all this technology, we are granted more options. But doesn't that just add "hay" to the stack where our very own needle is? Doesn't more "hay" just increase the chance that we'll miss the needle a few times before we finally discover it at last? Anyway, that's just my take on it. Beautiful write, as always, Alisa. |
