what is this pull and peppermint twist
straight through my heart like this?
splashes of dread and not much else,
I don't know how much more I can endure
or am willing to take,
can't you see how this tears at the very fabric
of everything we stand for,
everything we mean ...

you are the one who intrigues me
the one who was there, entirely
without reservation,
or so I thought
or so I wanted to believe ...

perhaps, that's the detour
dark clouds I never noticed, my dear
I was too busy entranced
dancing around in my head...

silly me, what was I thinking?
stuck in the nuance
deliriously,
another hint if I were paying attention.
can we spell
discontent?
add that to circumstance
bringing us back to peppermint twist....
