Dysfunction by Alisa Js
I guess you could say we found comfort in our dysfunction
And I learned to love listening from your weathered lips,
Tips of the day shared in tales of great wisdom
As we cast away pretense,
And just loved
Every minute,
Not caring to bother if this was politically correct
Who knew these would become some of our most treasured recollections,
Meaningful connections
Lessons I'll remember forever and a day,
Now, if I only had you
Here.
Life would be perfection
Love would be bliss
I would be happier than most
Who knew the road would be so scary
And traveled by those with careful boots,
Somehow I thought we'd always have tomorrow
Somehow I believed , you'd always be here
To answer my questions
Fill out our days,
Weather the storm clouds and sunny escapades
What was I thinking?
Where did I miss
Funny those things you realize,
When it's light years too late ...

When it's light years too late ...
