When Happiness Becomes Just Another Word

by Uriel Tovar

reckless in love
like a dog in heat
i managed to find you
and chewed on you
sucking the marrow
from your veins
until i felt
that i could walk without
holding your hand
but
my palms
grew sweaty
and i had no place
to wipe them
