FORK IN THE ROAD

by Anastasia Shows

hazy floating elegance
balances
out
my elemental hunger
for something
that i can no longer
stomach.

Your outdated underachieving
preference to
sloppily cover your lies
with a thin veil of
remorse

no longer
keeps
me warm.

The cleansing hunger
roars though my body
and
my headache spins me
around
like a limp rag doll
from a lost and found.

Alas, i am ambivalent...
do i want you,
or am i to let you go?

Liked stanza 2 especially and the open ended ending :) is the human in all of us, isn't it.

I am quite taken with the language. it is musical beyond the elegance.
