Meal by Corey Lockabythe meal you eat
(i sit here thinking
okay, i have the words
this digital heap
this mess of things lying around
exuding energy
they absorb consciousness
i can't get it back
a waste of my time but more-so,
a waste of everything
that's why this is so fleeting
it's part of a great vacuum-
God help us all.)
but
the meal you eat, now, soon, forever
it will be your last meal before you tackle
the infinite
now
is finite;
you see it
you hear it
you feel it
it's here and everything you perceive
is reliable in perception
the past, always represented
in memories that degrade
old magnetic spools,
paper photos,
wax cylinders,
they do nothing to change the past
it is also finite
everything else is
infinite
only can you know, what you've ever known 07/02/2008 Posted on 07/02/2008 Copyright © 2025 Corey Lockaby
