solstice

by Mary Frances Spencer

she breathes
hot heavy humid
breezes over
the languid still
ripening fields

gathers corn zucchini
strawberry
harvests
fiery tomato lips
spicy and sweet
arms open

she walks golden sands
spinning dreams electric
dances into sunset

summer shines
this longest day
as sun sizzles the edge
of night

I've experienced some awesome solstices, and this year should be no exception. Excellent write!
