Northern Star

by David Garner

when I unfold a map,
it comes with great distress.
how difficult it is to find anything when really lost.
to pinpoint exactly where I might be seems the hardest.
panels and panels of puzzling places.
where am I?
where am I going?
I get soooo frustrated.
walkabouts, no.
roundabouts, never.
whereabouts, I have no idea where I am going.

but
when I compare undressing you

like the unfolding of a map,
it comes with such enjoyment.
how beautiful it is to find I am completely lost.
to pinpoint exactly where I am proves exhilarating.
panels and panels of perfect positions.
where am I?
where am I going?
I get soooo excited.
walkabouts, yes.
roundabouts, always.
whereabouts, I know exactly where I am going.
