Tall Tales

by Alisa Js

look at how you've stretched
the reason,
beyond.
across the face of disbelief
in your haste, you suffocate and twist,
with your swizzle-stick you poke and joke
but never seem to achieve
yesterday's destination, anew
remnants sift some raw barrage
sinking fast, past horizon's palm you used to blow
before you met the likes of me,
and now your world's an untold mess
or so you'd have me believe,
after you've left her there, satisfied
third time in two days?
