remodel by Mary Frances Spencerrip out the old frayed
dusty layers
exhale forgotten ignored
years of junk
stuffed under or behind
give it all away
recycle
or toss
then with a deep breath
end to end lay down fresh clean planks
new ground
opens stuck windows
welcoming fresh
breezy intentions
time
to clean house
and find
my lost
soul
05/05/2008 Author's Note: We are redoing some floors and walls at our house and I am finding it very cleansing energetically as well. Can anyone else relate? MFS

| Posted by George Hoerner on 05/06/08 at 01:41 AM This is a great write! Moving does it for me although it tends to be depressing since I usually get rid of things I really like. I've moved 4 times in the past 7 years and it looks as though we will move again this year. I just wish it would renew my soul. The last one on the move to Wy but my wife can't take the winters so it's off to Myrtle Beach again. Bye Wy!!! |
| Posted by Alison McKenzie on 05/06/08 at 06:26 AM I have to do it every so often, change things around, stir up the dust, suck it up with the vacuum and make every corner sparkle. I love to change things, too, but lack of funds makes it prohibitive these days. I love the feelings you convey here! |
