Unblemished by Alisa Jswho took off that fragile reflection
and stretched it around some twisted acceptance,
eroded by fears, smeared across layers
skewered by doubts and sinking,
wrapped around lies
this lie,
we once believed in ...
forgiveness?
are you asking
is this a dream where we never wake up
what's in these moments we're calling strife,
is it more than the memories we held
what about those?
the ones that meant everything
when did it falter
if we're all about ending
or simply pretending it never mattered
and blending our inane sensibilities ...
was that you I saw laying there
six feet under
so quiet, I thought you were dead
I slid in beside your cough,
it's the only thing I have left
after all these years to remember you by...
I could have swooned
had I not seized the moment,
the clenching of teeth
against the back drop pressed flat,
the timing was perfect
without flaws,
unblemished ...
