Mosaics by Alisa Jsfollow me along our own place of
inner expulsion,
I have left all my keys scattered across
this lonely floor,
on my way out
as I can no more recall
any other,
any more ...
there are glad smiles and ready tiles
complete with sticky surrenders
press onto and they're off
with measuring sticks,
markers, if you please
the tape has disconnected
rewound is frantic for yesterday's reams
of soothsayers, like before
when we gathered, plastered
like so many times,
seeking unpretentious answers
somehow completely unaware
there could never be just one ...
romantic dears once near
have vanished
as the years come,
creeping with the silent truths
we've run and tethered down
and left standing,
commanding nothing more
than distant dreams,
once everything,
now dimming
as these rims do fill
with sad regret
there could have been another way
the way of me and you,
but I couldn't break the impaired view
no matter how I tried
and tried, I did
you know I did,
we were never meant to see
except in fragments, gallantly ...
