My Beautiful Life

by Genevieve Sturrock

i can make that beautiful
she says with a charming smile
and a box full of glitter
hours spent carefully
drawing and cutting
folding and gluing
to adorn the fridge
with beautified scraps

i can make that beautiful
she says with a shy smile
and a heart full of hope
hours spent carefully
listening and talking
holding hands and tissues
to piece together
the broken heart
of a friend

i can make that beautiful
she says with cheeky smirk
and a mind full of life
hours spent carefully
reading and learning
studying and experiencing
to build a foundation
as she grows up
and moves on

i can make that beautiful
she says with a wistful sigh
and her arms full of love
hours spent carefully
nuturing and worrying
praying and waiting
to hold her own
little bundle
of joy

i can make that beautiful
she says...and she did

I cried when I read this. It is truely very beautiful. Our children are our legacy and you expressed that without writing it. WONDERFUL write!

Oh God. This arrow of yours, went STRAIGHT into my heart and is lodged there, just now, quivering with every breath and tear. I love your heart!
