Teardrops

by Alisa Js

I see your teardrops on my pillow
And I listen, amazed
To some feeble rendition of love gone astray
Again,
Don’t you remember?
When I reached out …

Believing for years, we were real
Planning our next breath
In spite of,
Trespasses around billowing shades
Sliding throughout those pathetic refrains
Of wonder lust lost between
The me and the you
I used to know,
The ‘us’ I was so certain of
The ‘we’ that died
And blew away
Inside those memories of circumstance …

Beautiful. As always, you never fail to give me something good.

Alisa, very nice write -- as always, capturing that heartfelt emotion from loss so well...

Really good. I found myself unable to stop reading, being drawn again and again to the various parts of the poem.
