Soft Break by David Garner
both of you are hollow and filled with air which has been sealed off with fragile tips and decorative eyes.
as you slip through or from my fingers, it happens so slowly and softly, you both hit the floor, then rock to rest, then ever-so-slightly start to spin, then shatter.
you both break differently than anything else i know.
my love/my tree ornament

"Both of you" if taken to apply to one person or to a relationship, seen in the dropping, and breaking... is like an extended enlightenment moment... and the "ornament" aspect-- gives a thoughtful perspective, (introspective) and a sadness, yet a bit of wit. |
