Mind Chatter

by Alisa Js

where did all our tomorrows trail off towards
full of bright dreams and promises held
just waiting, anticipating
there,
on the horizon
behold, the flame flickers still
in the glow of the fire we steal
deep inside of somewhere uncertain ...

this curtain or veil is the key
and it lingers right out of reach,
beyond the next call of possibilities
around our prayers of confusion,
while we stay and wait
mired in this tale of never ending ...

each day is exactly the same as before
it never changes,
shackled to a familiar contempt,
mistaken for love in the beginning
we haven’t a clue really, do we
still bound by the throws of our sick addictions
and we tell ourselves
this is living,
this chatter that numbs the pain ...

It's all chatter and distraction from the big picture. Yet your words here are hopeful. Keep on reminding us to really look at what is really important, and not apathetically wait around for it to "happen to" us...Thanks for this! Enjoyed it very much. Namaste MFS

It's always good to hear from you Alisa. This one reads aloud very well and has a "pathetic" look on living this life! lol
