shopping souls by Mary Frances Spencerlost in this
marketplace
stacks and racks
shipped from
third world
outsources
gleam behind glassy eyes
dreams on sale
today only
i wander vast aisles
ceiling to floor
more is less
but nowhere to put it all
just mindless accumulation
to clutter and fill
we check out
the unsatisfied
full carts
with
empty souls
