Quite Another Reason by Ken HarnischWalking under the cold blue moon
And dreaming of summer
I found myself beneath some branches
Long since voided of leaves
And other establishing beauty
Which makes a tree a tree
Something beautiful in battalions
Practical and pretty
Shelter from the sudden rain or
Sleeves to hide the percolation
Of lovers from the sun.
There being nothing of grass or leaves
To lay a weary head,
Or a lover’s mad desire, I marked it down
In my notebook
That this was quite
Another reason to hate the winter

| Posted by Kate Demeree on 08/29/08 at 11:18 AM Very bleak feeling, yet rich with emotion. If I recall though you do love Fall... Perhaps the dancing snowflakes... should they emerge, and the ice sickles which adorn much of our state will perk you up... when they arrive |
