sands of lana'i

by Corey Lockaby

sea child
sleeping soundly in the
waves
roll up her shoulders
bathe her neck in salty
salty

preset tune
preset moon
wasting thoughtless energy on the
dead shores of ancestors
telling the combers and strollers

caution isn't in these winds
walk, keep but don't
take from my breast
the product of centuries
waltzing noisily to the days

the nights
when all seen is crestfoam and
lunar insanity

darkened shore
the sands of lana'i

That third stanza is wonderful. Beautiful imagery.
