solar eclipse by Mary Frances Spencersun shadowed
moon tonight
clouds parted curtains
peeling away
bitter rind
leaving sweet
tangy
crisp orange floating
in purple sky
at this moment
time and space
radiate soft
steady

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 02/21/08 at 04:13 PM It was too hazy here to get a good look. Stanza 2 is delightful and I really like the play on words at the end.
Posted by George Hoerner on 02/21/08 at 05:19 PM Nice write! I was walking the dogs about 9 last night and saw it quite well here in Star Valley WY. The slight haze gave it a mystical look. It was about 90% when I saw it.
Posted by Delilah Coyne on 02/21/08 at 05:25 PM I got to see it and it is always so amazing. It's definitely the sort of thing that can inspire a writer. Your second stanza is beautifully written. I really like the imagery.
