Perfect Harmony, A Song

by David Garner

Where were you when the world was good?
When the world had a sense of brotherhood.
When things were sacred like the love of God,
the love of man, and motherhood.
Where were you when the world was good?

Where were you when the world was grand?
When the ocean acknowledged the sky and the land.
When love was abundant and not just a dream,
when every star in the heavens knew every grain of sand.
Where were you when the world was grand?

Were you a baby? Were you a child?
Were you something pretty growing out in the wild?
Were you a lily? Or, were you a crane?
Were you something silly playing out in the rain?
Or, were you the spirit who finally found your way?
You are that spirit. And that day is today.

When the world is good and grand and rich.
When the world discovers it has perfect pitch.
When the wind comes whistling through every tree
is when the wind and the wood make harmony.
Perfect harmony and perfect pitch.
Perfect harmony and perfect pitch.
Perfect harmony and perfect pitch.
The world is good and grand and rich.
