Before YOu SPeak...Think

by Gregory Oregon

Oh explain to me the world from your eyes!
What do you know of dreams
where reality dare not venture
a place where vision fails
a sight that fearful eyes can not focus upon

speak to me of love dear adventurer
of the lengths from which you have gone?

Oh love,
why is it that they who chose to define you,
describe you,
only confine you
within the links of four letters alone?

could you not be more
than just the four letters
given to you to roam to soar

could there be more than just one syllable alone
could there be more to you
that there would be no One
to shrink you down into the pocket of literacy?

What do you know
of a world where all sorrow
and pain and strife has been removed from you
lifted from your shoulders
and all that you have ever known
has come to you in that moment
like a dream seconds away from being awoken?

The clarity of peace,
to stand at ease
without a memory of grief
to look back upon;
to look at the world
and only see a world as you had only dreamed it to be

tell me what do you know of that which never was?
tell my dear adventurer, what do you know of Love?

Author's Note: i have a secret that only one may know and she shall carry it with her to the depths of the unknown and find me there smiling as if to say "see, i knew it all along"
